GATB was founded by two best friends named Chaz and Tom who reside downunder. Prior to lockdown, the friends contemplated the idea of opening up a real life bar. Giraffes at the Bar is a 10,000 piece algorithmically generated collection that was built on the Ethereum network. The project’s goal is to provide fun and relief. Their roadmap includes drinks on the founders to a few lucky holders, a second drop for current GATB holders that depict Pangolins, as well as a generous donation from the funds raised in the initial sales of Giraffe at the bar NFT. The proceeds will go to the struggling Pangolin populations in Africa and Asia. These otherworldly creatures are considered the world’s most trafficked animal, and are listed as critically endangered. It’s a certain magic to the founders to give back to pangolins and attempt to raise awareness for the species.
When all is said and done, they have combined their passion for animals and the creativity for illustrations into building a community revolving around fun and change.
