Introducing Young Rob, who is a hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeat Recording artist from London. Initially born in Accra, Ghana, he moved to the UK after completing secondary school at Bishop Herman College in Kpando. He is one such artist who does not take hip-hop lightly as a hobby but a true passion of his life, which is the main reason for him to choose a career that he loves.
At a very tender age, Young Rob got acquainted with west coast hip-hop by hanging out with older peers and it was this very moment where he developed an interest in music. Eventually, he grew up listening to a lot of 2pac, Westside connection, The Hot Boyz, and The Lost Boyz and many similar artists.
Soon after Young Rob released his debut mixtape titled “Versatility”, he was admired by a huge number of people which was totally unexpected to him. And thereafter, Rob Started making a name for himself by performing, networking and gradually building a fan base. This young artist was always very ambitious and outrageous in expressing his values and thoughts.
His journey with the release of every song became much valuable to him.
– In 2013 he released his second Project titled “Still @ It”.
– In 2015 while working on his debut ep, Rob released his first afro-beat song “Ghana Baby”. The song is produced by Yann Gabriel which features French RnB artist Nabo that helped him receive a lot of media support and popularity in Ghana.
– Rob has since then Released his debut ep “ELEVATION’ in 2017,
– He then released SANKOFA EP in 2018.
– GOT THAT was released in 2020 along with a few collaborations.
Currently working on his album, Young Rob releases his second single this year titled ” Brown skin Girls”, on which he expresses, ‘’I wanted to bring attention once again to the remarkable beauty of our brown-skinned women. There’s a backward and bad stereotype tagged to our well-pigmented sisters, labelling them as difficult, dramatic and at times ugly. This song is my way of letting them know we adore them and live for their love’’.
